December 22, 1935~April 13, 2026

Maria grew up in Winthrop, Massachusetts, and passed away peacefully in her home in Florida on April 13, 2026 at the age of 90.

Maria was the beloved daughter of Costa and Dina Toumbakis, and was proud to be a first-generation Greek American. She grew up with a deep appreciation for her heritage, faith, and family traditions, which remained central to her life.

Over the last 11 years of her life, Maria was blessed with a loving companion, Michael (Mike) Gallagher, who brought her great comfort and joy.  She also shared a close bond with Mike’s family and friends, and cherished the relationships they built together.

Maria was a respected member of the Board of her Homeowner’s Association for 8 years, retiring at 89 years old. She had a very active social life with many good friends and acquaintances, and loved doing crossword puzzles and playing cards, especially Canasta.

Maria was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Emmanuel (Manny) Frangos. Together they served in leadership of the Philoptochos Society of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Port Richey, FL, and Maria was a long-time member of the Daughters of Penelope.

She is survived by her devoted children, Charles (Charlie) Frangos and his wife, Gala Gorman, and Karen Frangos and her wife, Kim Bauske. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Aaron & Collin Frangos, and cherished great-grandmother to Luke, Sam, Hannah and Hailey Frangos.

Maria was always warm and loving, and had a special way of making everyone feel comfortable around her. A gracious hostess, she welcomed family and friends into her home with open arms.  Her generosity and kindness touched all who knew her, and along with her stylishness, she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to be a part of her life.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of Maria’s life will be held at her home, 13320 Norman Circle, Hudson, Florida 34669 on May 9, 2026, 12-2 pm.  Open House, casual attire, light refreshments to be served.

We are grateful to have many fond memories shared with Maria, Mike and Gallagher’s families in Philadelphia and Florida. We went to various restaurants, attended graduation and special birthday parties: Maria’s 90th, Betty Ann and Karen’s 21st ( 😂😂🤣) visited important landmarks in Philly and Florida, each occasion was cherished.
We hold Maria near and dear to our hearts.
Our sincere condolences to her loving and loyal family and friends.
RIP Maria 💗🙏🙏🙏

Our condolences go out to Maria’s family and her friends. Maria was part of our lives for the past eleven years. Our family and friends enjoyed our time together with Maria and my Dad in Florida, Philadelphia, Montana, Wildwood & Cape May NJ. We celebrated lots of family events, major milestones and holidays together. We’ll remember them all fondly but we’ll also remember the times just being together sharing a meal or a board game , watching a movie, a sunset or a baseball game. Rest easy Maria, we’ll miss you. Peace to all who loved her and may her memory be a blessing.
