Marrietta Guerra

June 13, 1944~December 14, 2020

Marrietta Guerra, 76, sheltered safely in the arms of Jesus, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, December 14th after a long battle with disease. Marrietta was born June 13, 1944 in Schenectady, NY to James and Florence Donadio. She was a 1963 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Marrietta married the love of her life Claude Robert Guerra in 1963. They truly had a marriage made in heaven and were an inspiration and an example to all who were blessed to know them. She is predeceased by her parents and beloved husband, as well as her brother Patrick J. Donadio. Marrietta was a generous, loving mother and adored by her three children: Carol Ann Shively (Troy), Claude David Guerra (Debbie), and Jeffrey Guerra (Stephanie). She was the best Meme in the world to her 6 grandchildren: Jared Shively (Kayla), Brittany Shively, Brianna Guerra, Cole Guerra, Dalanie Guerra, and Devin Guerra. She is also survived by 1 great grandchild Parker Shively, brother Bruce Donadio (Helen), sister-in-law Ruth Donadio, beloved Aunt Margaret Abbatiello, cousins, nephews, nieces, and her “Forever Friends”.

Marrietta was a longtime resident of Schenectady, NY before relocating to Hudson, FL with her husband in 2000. Her life’s mission was to share Jesus with everyone that she met, truly believing “We are just passing through”. She would declare at the end of each phone call, “We walk with the King no matter what”. Our precious mom walks with the King today, and it makes us home sick for heaven where we will walk with the King together forever. We love you mom!

Marrietta a wonderful God loving sweet spirit woman. We grew up together in the same church and we were in each others weddings. She prayed for many many people and called to see how you were doing and always gave encouragement. She always reminded us that we walk with the King. Our love and prayers go out to her family.

My heart aches for, and with you, all who hurt with the passing of Aunt Marietta…In the brief moments I was privileged to spend with Aunt Marietta, she welcomed me with open arms, love, joy, and a beautiful smile. She had great regard for each member of her family, and by each of us, her memory will endure. It is my prayer that all of her children and grandchildren know that you are her legacy – her prize. I know she is rejoicing with Uncle Claude in the presence of Jesus, looking down on us all now with that prefect loving smile she wore so well.
