Schaefer, Martin A. 74, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, after a brief hospital stay. Marty Schaefer was a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, friend and mentor. Marty was born March 16, 1944 in Richland Center, WI. Marty was a phenomenal engineer who worked at Westinghouse, Sperry, CEI and finally Linvetec as Chief Engineer of Electrical Engineering Research and Development where he retired from. Marty loved Engineering and took pride in mentoring upcoming engineers. Marty was known for his ability to bring much needed perspective to situations. He was a Delta trauma survivor, a fact that he was very proud of. Marty loved his Family, the Greenbay Packers, Muscle Cars, Fishing, Billards, Guns and was known for his love of the ladies. Marty was proceed in death by his parents Martin and Trudy Schaefer and a granddaughter Laura Marie. He is survived by his children Amy Bartles (Ed), Andy Schaefer (Karin), his stepchildren Billy Diederich (Aimee), Martin Barrett (Patty), 16 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, Sister Kay Freeland (Kent), Brother Alan Schaefer (Judy), and a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends who will miss him greatly. Services will be held Friday April 6, at 1 pm. at Dobies Funeral Home, 6616 Congress St., New Port Richey, Fl 34653

I am sorry to hear about Marty. Marty was my boss for a few years at Linvatec. Marty bought my 96 TBird. I called Marty once after I retired, and we were going to get together, but never did. Again, I am very sorry to hear about Marty.
