Mary Baker was 88 years old and a lifelong resident of Tarpon Springs. She passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday the second of June. She would always say, “I’m a proud American of Greek descent”. She was devoted to the Good Lord and to the Greek Orthodox religion that she treasured. She loved her family, Greek culture, Greek food and the amazing Greek town she was raised in. She spent years at Sunset Hills elementary school and Tarpon Springs Middle school as a Greek Bilingual teacher. On her nights off during football season, she assisted the Tarpon Springs Sponger Youth Football organization where her late husband Tom was a coach. Preceding her in death, her beloved husband of 32 years Coach Tom Baker, her mother Nancy Vaughn, her brother Philip Fatolitis, her sister Anthea Maillis and her cherished aunts Katherine Klimis and Kally Manias. Surviving her are her four children whom she adored (Tommy, Mikey, Catherine and Petey) along with thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren that she admired beyond words. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
