Mary Regina “Jean” Haddaway, 85, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, 14th of September 2025 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Florida.
Jean was born on June 15th, 1940, to the late George Dent, Jr. and late Mary Elizabeth McQuigan in West Virginia. She was preceeded in death by her son Kevin Haddaway; her sister Rosalie C. Urban; and stepson Matthew Denman.
Jean resided in New Port Richey, Florida with her husband of 24 years, James Denman.
Jean leaves behind her daughters Laury Settle, Kimberly Sobecki (Steve), Darlene Molestatore (John); and son David Haddaway (Jennifer); her brother-in-law Henry Urban; niece Barbara Anne Freije (Wayne); nephews Joseph Sullivan (Cynthia) and Michael Urban (Jaime); stepchildren Ginger Hatch and Bernadette Denman Reed.
Jean was blessed with nine grandchildren. Heather (Rich) Viviano, Trae, Jennifer, Jesse, Jimmy (Tiffany) Hollins, Anthony (Bree) Molestatore, Hunter, Ryan and Megan; and seven great-grandchildren. Jean treasured the friendship and love of many wonderful friends, family, neighbors, and her two dogs Millie and Nugget.
She was the matriarch of our family, the keeper of the memories of our youth (good and bad), and was always just a phone call away. We may not be able to call her anymore, but we will always cherish the memories of our time with her.
A graveside service will be held on October 17th at 1pm at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She will be laid to rest next to her son Kevin.

I have so many good memories growing up with Mom Jean. She adopted everyone that walked through her front door. She was more like a sister to us. Going to miss fb pics and texts going forward . Heaven has gained the funnest Angel!

I was so sad when my son told me of Ms. Jean passing away.We lived across the street from each other when she lived in Johnston County. She was always friendly, neighborly, and made sure my boys were good and taken care of until I got home from work. I always enjoyed our chats and could always count on her to update me with the neighborhood news! She kept up with me via Facebook and would leave the sweetest comments. Her last sweet comment to me was on Sept 9th. There are so many memories I could share but just know she was an awesome woman.
I know she will truly be missed!
With love,
George, Tara, Queltic and Torrage

This is such a sad and difficult thing to write. Jean was such a vibrant person. She loved to laugh. I will miss her infectious laughter. She always wanted people to visit and she welcomed everyone. I loved the silly stories we would make up just to laugh over. I will miss seeing her pamper her two dogs. She loved them so very much. I will miss going to lunch with her, Jim and Kim but the thing I will miss the most is what she said to me every time I saw her of we spoke on the phone. I will miss her “love you” the most. Rest in peace my beautiful friend. Love you too.

Jean was a wonderful, caring and thoughtful woman with a heart of gold. I loved visiting her and having Millie and Nugget come over to me, with Nugget jumping on my lap. Jean was kind and always calling to ask if I was home because she had some leftover cake for me. I loved her and was glad I visited her in the hospital and was able to tell her so again. She said it back ❤️. She is dearly missed

Where do I begin with this wonderful lady. She is by far the sweetest, kindest soul. She was funny and loving, we had so many good laughs. I will never forget this woman who has been dear to my heart since the day I met her. May she rest in peace as she is welcomed into Heaven. Until we meet again dear friend, I will miss you and sure wish I had more time to spend with you. All my love,
P.S. Tom will be joining you soon, so you and Heather better behave until he gets there.
