Grgas, Mate 72 of Trinity entered into rest on December 4, 2020. Mate was born in Croatia the son of Mate and Blazenka Grgas.
Mate is survived by his loving wife Ojdana of Trinity, son Robert Grgas and his wife Emeline White of Staten Island, NY, daughter Marijana Filomarino and her husband Anthony of Trinity, 2 grandchildren Matthew Filomarino and Andrew Filomarino. Mate was a loving and caring husband, father and Dida (grandfather). He loved and was very proud of his family. He worked hard his entire life. He enjoyed traveling and adored watching his grandsons play basketball.
He will be sadly missed.
Friends may visit Dobies Funeral Home 701 Tarpon Avenue Tarpon Springs, Florida on Wednesday December 9, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Thursday December 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
Entombment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Trinity , Florida

My mother’s family was from Eastern Europe and when I first heard Mate’s voice at the Y it brought home many memories. Mate was so out going and fun to be around he quickly became a friend of our “older group of guys†at the Y. He talked so much about his family, his grandsons and their basketball. He brightened our days, we will miss him very much.
