Michael Karafantis a New Port Richey Florida resident, died April 15 at the age of 70. He was born August 6 1953 in Greece to the late George and Eugenia Karafantis. Emigrating here in 1969 with his predeceased brother Nicolas and sister Kaliopi he began a career working in the restaurant and food service industry beginning his journey in Mahopac NY and Elmsford NY. Some of his business endeavors included opening Pizzerias, Greek restaurants and even a small nightclub in Las Vegas Nevada. Along the way he called San Diego CA home, but spent over 30 years in Las Vegas where he raised his daughter Layne. Michael had much love to offer his many nephews and nieces as well as his beloved dogs affectionately and always named Baby.  He is survived by his nephews Nick (Dina) Karafantis of Bayport, NY, George (Maria) Karafantis of Levittown, NY , Anthony (Cristina)  Karafantis of Hawthorne , NY. and John Acrivides of Raleigh NC. Niece’s Ana (Dennis) Davis of Vista CA and Jeannie (Dennis) Rafferty of New Milford CT.  In addition to his two sisters Eleni and Vasso of Greece (and several great nieces and nephews) he is also survived by great nephews and nieces Nicolas, Emma, Dimitri, Anastasia, Dimitri, Dennis, Michael, Anthony and Leo.
