98, of Holiday, died May 18, 2018. She is survived by her son, John; three grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Walker “Nel” was my neighbor as a little girl growing up on Elkin. Mr. & Mrs. Walker lived right across the street. They would let us as kids ride our bike on their PAVED turn around driveway, which when you lived on a dirt road was very special! They were both such nice people…the best neighbors. Mr. Walker died way too young. As an adult, my parents and I kept in touch with “Nel” writing cards, emails, and sometimes a phone call! After my parents passed, I kept in touch with our “old friend.” I hadn't heard from her in a while, and that's when I found out of her passing. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was always so nice to the “little girl” across the street…and for that I am truly thankful. She will truly be missed.
