McGill, Penny

80, of New Port Richey, FL., died December 31, 2018.
Penny McGill was a long time Florida resident, most recently in New Port Richey, Fla.

She was a 28 year retiree of the St. Petersburg Times, and looked forward to the Silver Key gatherings. She enjoyed seeing old friends and coworkers and would talk about her years at the Times quite often.

She was an icon wherever she lived. She would make her rounds through the neighborhood, to check up on all the people she knew. And watch daily for the children to get on and off the school bus safely. She had a penchant for rescuing strays, both animal and human. If she could help even just a little, she would. Her passing has been felt by everyone who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years Warren J. “Mac” McGill.

She is survived by her 6 children, Gary Booth, Riverdale Ga., Carol Booth, Holiday, Fl, Mark Booth, Indianapolis, Ind., Robert Booth, Old Town, FL, Joseph McGill, Panama City, Fl, Samantha (McGill) Annis, Valdosta, Ga.; 8 Grandchildren; 1 great-grand daughter.

A memorial service and burial will take place at a later date in Tipton, Ind.
