Ralph James Watt, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Gulfside Hospice Center. Born on December 9, 1935, in Jamestown, NY, Ralph was the cherished son of Walter and N. Margaret (Clark) Watt.

Ralph’s life was marked by his steadfast commitment to his family and community. He married his high school sweetheart, Marcia Platt, on August 27, 1955, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Over the years, they were blessed with three daughters: Leslie Walach of Holiday, FL, Kathleen (Kenneth) Frey of Highland, IL, and Gretchen (Marcel) Black of Fairfax, MN. Ralph’s legacy of love extends to his eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

A proud graduate of Chautauqua High School, Ralph pursued higher education at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he studied sales and marketing. His career flourished in this field, leading him to work for various companies, which provided opportunities for Ralph and his family to experience life in different parts of the country. Despite the many moves, Ralph always maintained a sense of home, driven by his unwavering dedication to his family’s happiness.

Ralph was a man of many talents and interests. He was a passionate woodworker, often creating beautiful pieces for his loved ones. He also found joy in fishing and golf, relishing the peaceful moments these activities provided. Known for his generous spirit, Ralph was always ready to lend a helping hand, embodying the qualities of a true friend and neighbor.

A man of faith, Ralph was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in New Port Richey, Florida. His faith guided him throughout his life, influencing his compassionate nature and his commitment to helping others.

Ralph was predeceased by his beloved parents Walter and N. Margaret Watt, his in-laws Harvey and Helen Platt, and his sister-in-law Lois Gardner Platt. He is survived by his wife Marcia, daughters, Leslie, Kathie and Gretchen and his dear sister, Rosina Watt Gowan.

Ralph James Watt will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with his loved ones who passed before him.

Service will be held at Buena Vista Manor Club House on September 19, 2026 @ 11:00 AM.
