Robert (Bob) LeRoy Waggoner 71 died at home July 30, 2019 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.. He is survived by his father Alfred Waggoner, his wife of 47+ years Lona Long Waggoner, daughter Jennica, grandchildren Cayla, Jacob, Justin, and David. 2 great grand children Rowan and Esme'. His son Jason preceded him in death June 12 of this year.
Bob was born in Hutchinson, Kansas. He moved to Boulder, Colorado at a young age. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1967 during the Vietnam War. During his service he was deployed on 3 around the world cruises plus numerous cruises overseas. He visited many foreign countries during his career. He received many awards and medals for his service and retired as an AZCS.
He was stationed in Bermuda where he and Lona met. He was then stationed in Norfolk, VA. He lived in Norfolk, VA and Hampton, VA. After retirement he moved to Smithfield, VA. In 2012 he moved to Hudson, FL .
He also retired from LLBean, Williamsburg store. He always and often spoke highly of the team of people with whom he worked. They were considered part of his family.
He was known for his sense of humor and his willingness to help others. He enjoyed helping others with home projects of all types. He loved spending time with his family, kayaking and being out in nature. He was a friend to all.

My deepest condolences to the family…….Bob was a wonderful person who helped so many of us here at Gulf Island………he was a great husband to Lona, a wonderful son to Al and an awesome Dad and Grandpa……..he will be missed by many…..R.I.P. my friend. ðŸ™

We knew and resided with Jennica & her Beautiful daughter Cayla. May everyone concerned be filled with the peace of knowing that He is now with his Heavenly Father. If there is anything we can do please let us know! May we all be at peace, Amen.
