The family of Thomas A Herold are deeply saddened to announce his passing on March 8, 2025 at the age of 86. He leaves behind his wife, Rose, of 43 years, two sons John Thomas (Jonathan) Herold and fiancé Marinès and Thomas Cheyenne (Shane) Herold and daughter in law Candi, Rose‘s two daughters, Vivian Thornley and Suzanne St. Martin, along with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Tom’s golden years were primarily spent spoiling his two youngest grandchildren, Alex St. Martin and Cheyenne Denise Herold. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Ohio and Florida along with his deeply beloved dog Ares.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, John Thomas and his mother Mae Lucille Herold, his sister Marlene (Mickey) Ettel and her husband Don, his brother Donald (Donnie) Herold and his wife Lillian, his daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Beth Ann) Cox and their granddaughter Dina Thornley at the tender age of 30.
Tom was born in Franklin Ohio. He worked at the local paper mill for many years, then became a cabinet builder. He was a lifelong member of Pasco Counties VFW post 7631 and 6180, along with Franklin, Ohio’s American Legion post 0149.
Tom loved his family greatly. His pleasures were boating, camping, traveling, family gatherings, fiddling around the house and going to the Hard Rock occasionally.
Big Tom’s wishes were that we have no formal service or celebration, and (instructed) us that his ashes be scattered amongst the “fishies” in the big blue Gulf of Mexico (Now known as the Gulf of America.) 😊 He was a smart ass.
He was a good man, loved his Country, was a devoted father and loved his wife until the very end. He will be greatly missed by many ❤️

Aunt Rosie and Uncle Tom’s house was by far one of my favorite houses to go to growing up! Between getting to see all my cousins, running in the big backyard, it swinging on the wobbly swing set that is now in the backyard of his neighbor my now father-in-law, the awesome little smokies and seafood dip he made for the holidays and his awesome smell goods, things just won’t the same and he will be missed. Until we meet again in heaven Uncle Tom 💞

Yes Rose you will always miss Tom but you carry him with you and he will always be in your heart. I was so shock to read this on Facebook! But Rose only those who have loss someone like your Tom know and experience what and how you are dealing with this right now! Hang in there dear Rose and know that you will see him again in your future. I too know this as I hold my husband, William close in my heart and will see him again one day. God Bless You my dear friend!
