Toni Burgo, a long-time resident of New Bedford, MA, died Thursday the 30th of January, 2020 at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in Port Richey, FL. survived by brother Michael and wife Deborah Bagao. She was surrounded by loved ones.

Born on February 6, 1948 in Acushnet, MA to the late Antone and Julia (Silva) Bagao, Toni graduated from New Bedford High School before continuing her education at Kinyon-Campbell Business School.

Toni loved reading horror novels, watching classic movies, enjoying a beautiful snowfall, and most of all – spending time with family & friends. Her hard-won wisdom and amazing sense of humor made her a friend to all who knew her. Toni was a courageous person who always tried to put the needs of others before her own.

She is survived by her son Michael Amaral and wife Kathy of New Bedford, MA; son Dennis Amaral and wife Debbie of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter Mandi Burgo of Port Richey, FL; daughter Karen Pierce and husband Brian of Colorado Springs, CO, and many loving grand and great grandchildren who held a very special place in her heart.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children.

never forget you,my sister, miss you/love you r.i.p had fun when we were kids on nelson st in new bedford. we had lots of friends too. still in shock!!! so much to say. have you’re picture on my tv with you,dad me and dad. went to westerly.r.i. for dad,s older sister for her birthday. i pray every night with water in my eyes when i look at it. r.ip. sis i was the one that named you sissy, 16 months older that you. ma said,cause i could not say sister. that nick name stuck. proud to bee your brothe . bye, love y for ever ,your brother michael.
