March 08, 1925~July 31, 2019

Vivian Aurora Rodriguez Crist “Gigi”, widow of Joseph P. Crist, daughter of the late Roger and Martha Rodriguez, passed into God's arms July 31, 2019 at the age of 94 surrounded by her family.

Vivian is survived by her four daughters, Carolyn Taylor (Clyde), Linda Galan, Karen Crist, Jacquelyn Crist, and her granddaughters, Tasha Galan and Stacy Galan Shailendra. Gigi also had the joy of loving three great-grandchildren, Alexis Galan and Sydney and Sutton Shailendra.

Gigi had a love for New Orleans and lived in Lakeview for 80 years until Hurricane Katrina flooded her home. She then resided in Safety Harbor, Fl until she passed away, but NOLA was her heart and soul.

Gigi loved life no matter how difficult life could be. She was a social butterfly and an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing her gift of planting. Creative, kind, stylish, loving, strong, beautiful, and loyal to those she loved, Gigi also had a great love for children and a magical presence that was felt by all.

Our love for Gigi is never ending. We have a hole in our heart, but we are eternally grateful to have called her ours.

We will be celebrating Gigi's Winner's Circle of Life on two occasions:

So sad that we lost our mother. I expected Gigi to live to 100 with her active, healthy lifestyle. She believed everything should be in moderation.God decided that he wanted Gigi in the Heavenly Gardens. I know that she is designing a magnificent landscape. Our heavens are green. I love you, Gigi, our flower of life.

Oh Aunt Viv. What an iconic classy lady. Wish we would have had more time to make more memories. I should be so lucky to look that good if I get to be your age. Tell everyone hello for us in heaven. Love you and pray for you by name daily. 😘❤️😘

Gigi was such a lovely lady inside and out. I enjoyed her positive spirit and upbeat personality. She was an inspiration as nothing slowed her down. I have been praying for the family as I know how much they loved her and how much she is missed. Hope to all meet again in the place where there is no sadness or pain.

Gigi taught me about life skills, such as, gardening. She called me “Princess.” She was an inspiration and gave off a “light” to everyone around her. She had this spirit that everyone loved. I really love her and will miss her dearly.

Love,
Your great-granddaughter, Alexis Galan

Dear Gigi,
What an amazing woman you were! You were definitely someone I looked up to and will always think about. I wish I would had wanted to learn more from you, especially, how to cook, sew, and be organized. Hah! Thank you for being the person you were. You have high standards to live up to. You were so good to Alexis and me. Thanks for being so thoughtful and attending all of our events when you could. I'm really going to miss your presence, but you will always be remembered. To my last grandparent, I love you dearly, and you will always be with me in spirit. Hugs & lots of kisses!
Love,
Tasha
