William J. Puopolo, age 49, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away suddenly on July 22, 2026.

Bill dedicated his life to serving others. He proudly served his country through a distinguished military career before retiring from the service as a lieutenant colonel. He remained active in his community as a member of the Holiday Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), a grand knight in the Knights of Columbus, and a faithful member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Above all else, Bill was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie, and their four cherished daughters: Clara Buckley (Puopolo) and her husband, Branden, Meridene Puopolo, Lucy Puopolo, and Adeline Puopolo. His family was the greatest source of pride and joy in his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Bill is also survived by his loving sister, Bern Fidanzato and her husband, Richard; his brother, Frank Puopolo and his wife, Mina; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Puopolo, and his mother, Elenor Puopolo.

Bill will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his selfless service to his country, his steadfast faith, and his kind and generous spirit. He had a quiet strength, a loyal heart, and a willingness to help anyone in need. Whether spending time with his family, supporting fellow veterans, or participating in his church community, Bill lived a life rooted in love, service, and integrity.

His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. While his time with us was far too short, the example he set through his compassion, courage, and devotion will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

The Puopolo family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements and a Mass celebrating Bill’s life will be announced at a later date.
